Putin threatened to ‘take’ European capitals in two days – media

Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that he could bring Russian troops not only to Kyiv, but also to a number of European cities.
This is stated in a summary of the European External Action Service, Germany’s Suddeutsche Zeitung newspaper reported.
According to the newspaper, Putin said this in a conversation with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
Poroshenko, in turn, retold the content of the conversation to European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.
“If I wanted, in two days Russian troops would be in Kyiv and also in Riga, Vilnius, Tallinn, Warsaw and Bucharest,” Deutsche Welle cited Putin’s statement.
In addition, Suddeutsche Zeitung reported that the Russian president had advised Poroshenko “not to rely too much on the EU,” as he may wish to “influence and block the adoption of decisions at the level of the European Council.”
