Cost savings due to a Prozorro electronic public procurement system in May amounted to UAH 217 million with 16,400 tenders held, according to the system`s website.
The number of organizers of trading in May was 2,900, with the average number of bidders at 2.48.
The rating of customers in May was topped by the Kyiv City State Administration with 3,700 tenders, the Ministry of Infrastructure with 1,400 tenders and Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration with 1,200 tenders.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine December 25, 2015, adopted a law establishing a requirement for all public procurement to be carried out through Prozorro electronic procurement system from 1 April 2016 for ministries and large state-owned companies, and from August 1, 2016 – for all state-owned companies and government agencies.
The Ukraine-made Prozorro system received an international award at World Procurement Awards (WPA) in the Public Sector category. It is expected that by the end of 2016, the use Prozorro would save about UAH 5 billion and another UAH 50 billion in 2017.
