The Individuals` Deposit Guarantee Fund has extended the authority of the provisional administration at Kyiv`s insolvent Khreschatyk Bank for one month – until June 4, according to the Fund`s website.
The powers of the provisional administrator of the bank, Ihor Kostenko, are extended for the same period.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the Individuals` Deposit Guarantee Fund introduced the provisional administration at the bank after the National Bank of Ukraine declared it insolvent on April 5.
Managing Director of the Individuals` Deposit Guarantee Fund Andriy Olenchyk said that the Fund had estimated the amount of compensation to be paid to depositors of Kyiv`s insolvent Khreschatyk Bank at UAH 2.8 billion.
The bank`s major shareholders are Andriy Ivanov with 37.44%, Kyiv City State Administration with 25%, Mykola Soldatenko with 24.24%, and some minority shareholders.
According to Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Kateryna Rozhkova, the bank`s liquidity worsened after some enterprises owned by the bank`s shareholders had transferred their accounts to other banks.
