Pro-Russian militants continue shelling ATO forces in Donetsk region

The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked the Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 56 times in the past 24 hours, using banned weapons, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.
”In the Donetsk sector, 30 episodes of enemy shelling were reported. The occupiers fired 122mm artillery systems on the Ukrainian fortified positions near the town of Avdiyivka. They also fired 120mm mortars near Avdiyivka and the villages of Zaitseve, Luhanske and Novoselivka Druha,” the ATO HQ said in an update as of 06:00 Kyiv time on July 8.
In the Mariupol sector, the enemy opened fire on the Ukrainian fortified positions 25 times. ”In particular, from 120mm and 82mm mortars near the village of Talakivka, as well as near the towns of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka, and the villages of Shyrokyne, Starohnativka and Slavne. In the Donetsk region, the occupiers fired from rocket-propelled grenades, infantry combat vehicles, anti-aircraft guns and heavy machine guns on the Ukrainian troops,” the report says.
”In Luhansk region, an enemy mortar attack was recorded near the village of Novo-Oleksandrivka,” the press center said.
