Poroshenko may have further talk with Putin

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko may soon have additional talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin to speed up the organization of another Trilateral Сontact Group meeting in Minsk.
Deputy Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Administration Valeriy Chaly said this at a briefing on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“Additional international negotiations may be held in the next few days, including negotiations with the Russian president, in order to make Russia more active in this process. The possibility of the meeting will depend on this political decision,” he said.
Chaly said that Ukraine counted on such a format of negotiations last week, but now only Russia is delaying the meeting.
“First, there is no final decision on the agenda. Ukraine’s position is clear. These are the issues of the release of hostages and the withdrawal of troops. Ukraine is ready for the meeting, and we need at least the decision of a Russian representative. Today the ball is in their court,” he said.
The deputy head also said that one of the main requirements set by Ukraine was a clear agreement on ending the war in Donbas.
“The meeting should be arranged next week, but today there is no specific date for it,” Chaly said.
