Poroshenko does not rule out local elections in occupied Donbas this year

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko does not rule out the possibility of holding local elections in the occupied part of Donbas until the end of the year, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
”I do not rule out this,” he told journalists after the ceremony of taking the oath by employees of the patrol police department of the town of Kramatorsk.
”I am sure that when there is a security, when there is a ceasefire, when all our hostages are returned, when we establish the OSCE armed mission, when this mission is deployed not only on the frontline, but also on the border, and the occupiers are withdrawn, I am sure that only through the political process and the elections we can return the occupied territories under the sovereignty of Ukraine,” Poroshenko said.
