Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and U.S. Vice President Joe Biden have discussed by phone a number of current issues, including the implementation of the Minsk peace agreement on Donbas and preparations for the EU-Ukraine summit, the White House said in a statement.
”The two leaders underscored the importance of full implementation of the Minsk agreements, and President Poroshenko previewed Ukrainian preparations for the upcoming EU-Ukraine Summit in Brussels on November 24. The leaders expressed hope that the summit would provide a positive signal of support for the Ukrainian people,” the statement said.
The leaders also discussed Ukraine`s reform trajectory and emphasized the need for continued swift progress, including on steps needed to secure Ukraine`s next tranche of funding by the International Monetary Fund.
