NSDC denies joint Ukrainian-Russian patrols in occupied territories

Patrols on Ukrainian territory could be carried out only by Ukrainian citizens who are Armed Forces servicemen or Interior Ministry employees.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov said this to journalists in Kyiv on Monday, the council’s press service reported.
“Some media spread reports on joint patrols by Ukrainian and Russian servicemen in the temporarily occupied territory. Such reports are untrue. We do not consider it possible to carry out patrols on Ukrainian territory with those who illegally crossed our border with arms,” Turchynov said.
He also noted that Ukrainian law enforcement agencies had enough forces to ensure patrol “in any part of our country.”
