National Bank introduces cash limits

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) limits the issue of cash for banks through pay offices and ATMs to UAH 150,000 per a client a day from current and deposit accounts.
This is said in the resolution No. 449of July 28, published on the NBU website, which amends a provision “On regulation of activity of financial institutions and foreign currency operations.”
“Banks are obliged to limit the issue of cash in the national currency through pay offices and ATMs up to 150,000 a day for one client,” a statement reads.
However, these restrictions are not spread to the issue of cash for payment of wages, stipends, pensions and other social payments (except for payment of financial aid), as well as to payments of guaranteed compensation amounts to depositors at the expense of the Deposit Guarantee Fund.
At the same time, the National Bank has not amended the cash hryvnia limits for pay offices and ATMs within UAH 150,000 a day to one client.
