EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini will visit Ukraine on December 16-17.
This was announced by European External Action Service (EEAS) spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“On Tuesday afternoon EU High Representative Mogherini will leave for Kyiv. According to the program of the visit, she will meet the president of Ukraine, MPs, government officials and civil society representatives. The parties will discuss EU assistance in resolving the crisis and implementing reforms,” Kocijancic said.
She also recalled that on Monday, December 15, the first meeting of the Ukraine-EU Association Council would be held. The Ukrainian delegation will be headed by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk, while Federica Mogherini and EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn will represent the European side.
Kocijancic also confirmed Mogherini’s possible visit to Moscow, saying that the exact date has not yet been determined.
