Over the previous day, the situation on the territory of Luhansk region, controlled by Ukraine, became complicated, militants shelled settlements 43 times. The tensest situation is in Stanytsia Luhanska.
The official website of Head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal reads.
Starting with 8:00 a.m. and until a midnight, Stanytsia Luhanska was shelled eight times from mortars, artillery and small arms. As a result, kindergarten No. 2 was damaged, as well as several private houses in the Molodizhny quarter,” he said.
In addition, direct hits of shells were fixed in three multistoried houses in the neighborhood, apartments were damaged: “In Radianska Street, a direct hit from a projectile destroyed a house, damaged electrical and central heating system. In Kalinin Street, one house was destroyed and two houses and a gas pipeline were damaged. In Chapayev Street, one house was completely destroyed, another house – partially. In Moscow-Donbas Street, four shells hit the building, housing was totally destroyed. In Krupska Street, one residential house was destroyed and five – damaged.”
According to Moskal, the fighting in Stanytsia Luhanska is underway now. “This morning, a direct hit of the artillery shell damaged the secondary school in the village of Artem, near Stanytsia Luhanska. In addition, shelling damaged power lines, so ten streets of the district center remained without electricity,” he said.
During Wednesday, shelling of the settlement of Shchastia continued, the village of Krymske, Novoaidarsky district, the town of Zolote and the village of Troitske, not far from Zolote. As a result of explosion of mines and shells, 57-year-old and 18-year-old residents of Zolote got injures from shrapnel. Both were hospitalized.
