Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko urged city authorities to promote a public initiative for painting bridges, crossings and buildings in the colors of the national flag.
He said this at a meeting of the board of Kyiv City State Administration (KSCA) on Tuesday.
“Recently, members of the public have turned to the city administration with respect to painting bridges, crossings and other facilities in the national colors … We should support these patriotic sentiments of people,” Klitschko said.
According to him, part of roadsides, a number of main streets of Kyiv, including Victory Avenue, Hlushkov Avenue and Bazhan Avenue are blue-yellow.
Klitschko tasked the KCSA Department of Transport Infrastructure and Kyivavtodor public company to provide monitoring and coordination of all district administrations of the capital on paining bridges, crossings and buildings in the colors of the national flag.
