Serhiy Tihipko is considered one of the main candidates for the post of the Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, ZN.UA reports citing its source.

Mr Tihipko has been rather close to President Poroshenko lately and deeply informed about the latter`s commercial activities, according to ZN.UA.

The publication says Serhiy Tihipko left the post of the head of JSC TAScombank and appointed to the post of a chairman of its Supervisory Board, that`s according to the statement by the bank`s press service.

It should be recalled that Mr Tihipko has already been the NBU Governor back in 2002 – 2004. After that, in 2004, he was the chief of Viktor Yanukovych`s election campaign.

As UNIAN reported, on April 10, NBU Governor Valeria Gontareva announced her resignation from May 10. According to the official, he is ready to leave the post earlier if the Verkhovna Rada supports her resignation move in a vote.
