Europe wants to continue talks on eastern Ukraine

The European Union supports the intensification of negotiations as part of the trilateral contact group involving Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE with a view to resolving the situation in Donbas.
This is stated in the conclusions of the EU Foreign Affairs Council on Ukraine, which were approved on Monday, Ukrinform’s correspondent in Brussels reported.
“To ensure implementation of commitments undertaken by parties under the Minsk agreements, the Council underlines the need for intensification of talks in the framework of the Trilateral Contact Group, with the support of the representative of the OSCE Chairmanship in Office, and calls on all concerned participants to engage actively and constructively,” the foreign ministers of EU member countries reported.
The EU has again stressed the need for a sustainable political solution of the crisis, which needs to be based on the respect for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
