Deficit of Ukraine`s foreign trade in goods 1.7 times up in eight months

The deficit of Ukraine`s foreign trade in goods in January-August 2016 was estimated at $3.567 billion, which was 1.7 times up on the deficit registered in the eight months of 2015 at $2.154 billion.

Goods exports in the period under review totaled $20.869 billion, having declined by 10.1% year-over-year, while imports shrank by 3.6%, to $24.436 billion, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reported with reference to preliminary reports.

The NBU said that the reports do not include information about Russia-annexed Crimea with Sevastopol and temporarily occupied areas in Donbas, eastern Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported, the deficit of Ukraine`s foreign trade in goods in January-July 2016 was estimated at $2.529 billion, which was 1.4 times up on the deficit year-over-year, when it was $1.812 billion, according to the NBU.
