Militants have repeatedly tried to storm the Donetsk airport in the past 24 hours, but attacks were successfully repelled by Ukrainian government forces, and the enemy retreated with losses, Information Resistance group leader Dmytro Tymchuk has said.
“In the past 24 hours Russian-terrorist forces five times tried to storm the strongholds of Ukrainian troops near the settlements of Starohnativka, Nevelske and Popasna and two times the Donetsk airport. Attacks were successfully repulsed, and the enemy retreated with losses,” he said.
According to the Information Resistance group, the Oplot terrorist battalion sustained significant losses in battles with Ukrainian troops near Donetsk. According to preliminary reports, up to 40% of militants were killed and wounded. The major part of armored vehicles destroyed in the vicinity of the Donetsk airport, as well as Pisky and Avdiyivka, belonged to this battalion.
