Abromavicius: Eight foreigners among applicants for Ukrzaliznytsia CEO

Ukrainian Minister for Economic Development and Trade Aivaras Abromavicius says that there are eight foreign citizens among applicants for the position of General Director at the State Administration of Railways Transport of Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia).

”In total, there are 31 candidates, including eight foreigners and 23 our [citizens],” he wrote on Twitter.

The Ministry for Economic Development and Trade conducted interviews with the candidates on April 4, he said.

Six contests are currently under way for the positions of heads of major state-owned companies, namely, Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukrspirt, Ukrenergo, Centrenergo, Ukrposhta, and Electrotyazhmash.
At this, the minister said that the selection of candidates would be completed within two weeks.

The economy ministry began the Ukrzaliznytsia CEO contest in late February 2016. Candidates are required to have five years of experience in management of large companies.

As UaPosition reported earlier, on December 1, 2015, Ukrzaliznytsia began work as a public joint stock company. The new public joint stock company was founded on the basis of Ukraine`s State Rail Transport Administration whose personnel will be transferred to the reorganized company.
