U.S. Vice President Joe Biden will attend the 51st Munich Security Conference on February 6-8, and discuss the political situation in Ukraine with the Ukrainian President, German Chancellor and top EU officials.
Joe Biden came to Europe as the US has an open discussion how to help to solve the situation in Eastern Ukraine. Besides whether to supply weapons to Ukraine in its conflict with pro-Russian separatists because there is a danger that Russia wants to change the boarders of Europe:
“This is a moment where the United States and Europe must stand together, stand firm. Russia cannot be allowed to redraw the map of Europe, because that’s exactly what they are doing,” Biden said and added: “Ukraine is now fighting for its own survival. Russia continues to escalate the conflict by sending in mercenaries and tanks. We can see the flow of ‘little green men’ and modern soldiers for special operations”
U.S. Vice President has already met Donald Tusk, the European Council President.
“We cannot compromise on Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. The EU remains fully committed to continue giving support to the Ukrainians, helping then to reform the country and become a modern, prosperous and democratic society,” stated Donald Tusk.
Joe Biden and Donald Tusk has also talked about the Russian aggressive policy and manipulating with the gas:
“Russia is using ‘a new tool of an aggressive policy’. They’ve made the energy sector a weapon and an instrument of foreign policy,” U.S. Vice President noted.
U.S. Vice President also provides talks how to help Ukraine in financial and security sectors.
