Poroshenko and Merkel consulted how to stop Russian violence in Ukraine

On Monday, March 16, 2015 Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and German Chancellor Angela Merkel hold a joint news conference in Berlin, Germany. The leaders talked about the ways to reach peace in Eastern Ukraine and to stop Russian invasion in Ukraine.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel underlined that Germany provides everything possible to reach the results of the Minsk agreements (February 12, 2015):

“We will do everything to give this peaceful solution a chance,”  said German Chancellor.

Ukrainian President agreed that “There is no alternative to Minsk,” and was satisfied with the results of the meeting:

“The visit was extremely effective,” Poroshenko said.
