Russian army’s attacks on civilian infrastructure
The Russian Federation continues to kill the civilian population of Ukraine, disregarding the laws and customs of war, employing terrorist tactics, and conducting strikes and shelling on both military and civilian targets.
Within a 24-hour period, the Russian army carried out more than 30 airstrikes, including the use of 6 Iranian combat UAVs Shahed-136/131. All Shahed drones were destroyed by Ukrainian troops. Additionally, Russian troops conducted 23 shelling attacks with multiple rocket launcher systems on the positions of Ukrainian forces and populated areas. Unfortunately, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population, with residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure being damaged.
The likelihood of missile and aerial strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.
The Russian army continues to concentrate its main efforts on the directions of Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka, with heavy fighting ongoing. Over the course of the day, more than 30 combat clashes occurred.
Operational situation on Ukrainian directions
- The operational situation on the Volyn and Polissya directions remains unchanged. No signs of offensive groupings being formed have been detected. Combat training and coordination activities of Russian Federation forces continue on the training grounds in the Republic of Belarus before their deployment to areas of combat operations in Ukraine.
- The Russian army maintains a military presence in border areas with Ukraine on the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions. It conducted airstrikes on the populated areas of Leonivka and Mykolaivka in the Chernihiv Oblast, as well as Volfyne in the Sumy Oblast. Artillery and mortar shelling targeted the populated areas of Khrynivka, Yeline, Karpovychi, and Leonivka in the Chernihiv Oblast; Seredyna-Buda, Sytne, Fotofyzh, Novi Vyriky, Volfyne, Shpyl, Obody, Kyndrativka, Loknia, and Stepne in the Sumy Oblast, along with Odnorobivka, Udy, Veterynarne, Kozacha Lopan, Vysoka Yaruga, Lyptsi, Alisivka, Buhruvatka, Staritsia, Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Bochkove, Pletenivka, Mala Vovcha, Varvarivka, Budarky, Rublene, Anyskyne, and Milove in the Kharkiv Oblast.
- Kupiansk direction: Russian troops carried out an airstrike in the area of Synkivka in the Kharkiv Oblast. Russian artillery and mortar shelling targeted Krasne Pershe, Fiholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zakhidne, Masiutivka, Kyslivka, and Berestove in the Kharkiv Oblast.
- Lyman direction: the Russian army conducted unsuccessful offensive actions towards Dybrova in the Luhansk Oblast and Serebrianka in the Donetsk Oblast. It also carried out airstrikes in the areas of Novoehorivka and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk Oblast, as well as Siverska and Donetsk in the Donetsk Oblast. Artillery shelling affected Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Dybrova, Kuzmine, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk Oblast, and Torske, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka in the Donetsk Oblast.
- Bakhmut direction: Russian troops conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the areas of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Ivanivske, and Bila Hora in the Donetsk Oblast. They carried out airstrikes near Kurdiumivka and New York in the Donetsk Oblast. Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Ozarianivka, Bila Hora, Kostiantynivka, Druzhba, and Pivnichne in the Donetsk Oblast were affected by Russian artillery shelling.
- Avdiivka direction: the Russian army conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the areas of Severne and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk Oblast. It carried out airstrikes near Avdiivka, Severne, and Pervomaiske. Artillery shelling targeted the populated areas of Oleksandropil, Keramik, Novokalynove, Berdychiv, Stepove, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Severne, Pervomaiske, Netailove, and Nevelske in the Donetsk Oblast.
- Marinka direction: the Russian army conducted offensive actions towards Marinka but did not succeed. It carried out an airstrike in the area of Krasnohorivka. At the same time, Russian troops shelled the populated areas of Krasnohorivka, Zoriane, Hostre, Maryinka, Georgiivka, Kurakhove, and Pobeda in the Donetsk Oblast.
- Shakhtarsk direction: Russian soldiers conducted offensive actions towards Novomykhailivka and Vuhledar but did not succeed. They carried out an airstrike in the area of Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk Oblast. They shelled the populated areas of Paraskeviivka, Novomykhailivka, Kostiantynivka, Yelyzavetivka, Katerinivka, Bohoyavlenska, Blahodatne, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, and Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk Oblast.
- Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions: the Russian army continues to conduct defensive actions. It carried out unsuccessful offensive actions towards Pyatykhatky in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. The Russian army conducted airstrikes in the areas of Preobrazhenka and Stopnohirsk in the Donetsk Oblast. Russian troops shelled the populated areas of Novoocheretuvate, Neskuchne, Blahodatne, Makarivka, Storozhove, Zelene Pole, Temirivka, Novopil, and Burlatske in the Donetsk Oblast; Levadne, Chervone, Hulyaipole, Novoandriivka, Stepove, Pyatykhatky, Lobkove, Kamianske in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast; Zolota Balka, Mykhailivka, Novooleksandrivka, Dudchany, Kachkarivka, Shliakhove, Kozatske, Mykolaivka, Burhunka, Ivanivka, Sadove, Prydniprovke, Naddniprianske, Molodi Zhne, Zymivnyk, Bilozirka, Romashkove, Antonivka, Kherson, Dniprovskyi, Kizomys in the Kherson Oblast, and Ochakiv in the Mykolaiv Oblast.
Ukrainian aviation and artillery response
During the day, the aviation of the Ukrainian army conducted 12 strikes on Russian personnel concentration areas and 6 strikes on anti-aircraft missile complexes. Ukrainian military also destroyed a Russian Mi-24 attack helicopter.
Rocket forces and artillery units targeted Russian command post and ammunition depot, inflicting damage over the course of the day.
