Russian offensive actions and impact on civilians
During the day, the Russian army launched 30 rocket and 48 aviation strikes and conducted 32 shelling attacks with multiple rocket launch systems on the positions of Ukrainian military and civilian areas. Unfortunately, due to the Russian terrorist attacks, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population, and residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged.
The likelihood of missile and aviation strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high. Approximately 30 armed clashes occurred during the day.
Intensified frontline clashes and epicenters of conflict
- In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remained relatively unchanged.
- In the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions, the Russian army shelled more than 30 populated areas, including Buchky, Hremiach, Chernihiv Oblast; Bobylivka, Vyshenky, Svarkove, Tymofiivka, Pavlivka, Sumy Oblast; and Odnorobivka, Kozacha Lopan, Ohirtseve, Varvarivka, Khatne in Kharkiv Oblast.
- In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers are holding their defense steadfastly and successfully repelled Russian attacks in the area east of Petropavlivka, Kharkiv Oblast. The Russian army conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Petropavlivka and Podoliv, Kharkiv Oblast. More than 10 populated areas, including Kamyanka, Novomlynsk, Zapadne, Petropavlivka, and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi in Kharkiv Oblast, experienced Russian artillery and mortar shelling.
- In the Lyman direction, Russian troops carried out aviation strikes in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk Oblast, and Spirne and Rozdolivka, Donetsk Oblast. Populated areas such as Kuzmine, Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast, and Torske, Verkhniokamianske, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk Oblast were affected by Russian artillery shelling.
- In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops are holding back the Russian army in the area north-east of Diliivka. More than 10 populated areas, including Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Markove, Chasiv Yar, Predtechyne, Bila Hora, and New York in Donetsk Oblast, were affected by Russian artillery shelling.
- In the Avdiivka direction, under intense Russian aviation and artillery fire, Ukrainian military successfully repelled Russian troops’ attacks in the Avdiivka area. Artillery shelling also occurred in Avdiivka and Pervomaiske, Donetsk Oblast.
- In the Marinka direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to contain the Russian troops’ advancement in the areas of Marinka and Krasnohorivka. The Russian army carried out aviation strikes in the Krasnohorivka area, Donetsk Oblast. Artillery shelling affected Krasnohorivka, Hostre, Heorhiivka, Marinka, and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast.
- In the Shakhtarsk direction, the Russian army conducted aviation strikes in the area of Staromykhailivka. Artillery shelling affected Vodiane, Vuhledar, Blahodatne, and Staromykhailivka, Donetsk Oblast.
- In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian attempted advances in the Robotyne area, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, were unsuccessful. The Russian army conducted aviation strikes near Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, and Orikhove. More than 10 populated areas, including Novodarivka, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Vesele, Mali Shcherbaky, and Pyatyhatky in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, and Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, experienced Russian artillery shelling.
- In the Kherson direction, Russian soldiers conducted aviation strikes in the area of Olhivka, Kherson Oblast. More than 15 populated areas, including Zolota Balka, Novooleksandrivka, Dudchany, Zmiivka, Tokarivka, Kherson, and Kizomys in Kherson Oblast, experienced Russian artillery shelling.
Ukrainian countermeasures
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery measures.
During the past day, the Air Force of Ukraine carried out 10 strikes on Russian personnel, equipment, and military vehicles, and 2 strikes on Russian anti-aircraft missile systems.
Rocket and artillery units during the day hit 2 command posts, 2 troops concentration areas, 2 artillery positions, and one radio-electronic warfare station of the Russian army.
