Operational report August 11, 2022 by the General Staff of AFU on the Russian invasion of Ukraine

Operational information on the 169th day (11.08.2022) of the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation.

The Russian army is concentrating its efforts on seizing full control of the Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts’ territories, holding onto the temporarily taken Kherson oblast territory and portions of the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Mykolaiv oblasts in Ukraine, creating favourable conditions for resuming the offensive in some directions, and obstructing Ukraine’s maritime communications in the Black Sea.

Russian soldiers are still attacking military and civilian targets in Ukraine with air and missile assaults.

Regarding the directions of Volyn and Polissia, nothing has altered. Threatening near the Belarusian-Ukrainian border in the Brest and Gomel districts is being carried out by the units of the Belarusian armed forces.

Russian troops launched barrel artillery fire in the Siverskyi direction at both military and civilian infrastructure in the Chernihiv oblast’s Logy villages and the Sumy oblast’s Vorozhba, Mezenivka, Hrabovskoe, and Slavhorod sectors.

Russia caused fire damage near Udy, Petrivka, Protopopivka, Korobochkyne, and Shevelivka in the direction of Kharkiv.
It kept firing artillery and tanks in the direction of Sloviansk close to Karnaukhivka, Virnopilla, Bohorodychne, Mazanivka, and other places.

Near Siversk, Verkhnokamyanske, Serebryanka, and Hryhorivka in the direction of Kramatorsk, Russian units used rocket artillery and tanks to cause fire damage. They attempted to attack Hryhorivka and Verhnokamianske but failed and withdrew. There is still fighting in the Ivano-Daryivka region.

Russian occupants opened fire on Ukrainian defenders around Bakhmut, Kostiantynivka, Pereizne, Vesele, Bakhmutske, Vesela Dolyna, Yakovlivka, Vershyna, and Zaytsevw from tanks and artillery. Airstrikes by the Russian army were launched close to Vyimka, Spirne, Soledar, Bakhmut, and Zaitseve.

By engaging in combat close to Yakovlivka, the Russian occupiers performed illegal reconnaissance but failed. Near Bakhmutske and Zaytseve, they attempted to launch offensive and assault operations without success. Vershyna and Dacha settlement areas remain a battleground.

Russian troops fired artillery in the direction of Avdiyivka close to Mariyinka, Vodiane, Netailove, Avdiyivka, Pisky, Opytne, and Krasnohorivka. They carried out an airstrike close to Avdiivka and conducted offensive operations in the Maryinka and Piski directions.

Russian shelling from barrel and rocket artillery, as well as tank fire, was reported in the vicinity of the localities of Novomyhailivka, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Lukianivske, Vuhledar, Novodanylivka, Vremivka, Bilohiria, Burlatske, and Kushuhum in the Novopavlivske and Zaporizhya directions. Near Novomykhailivka, Prechystivka, and Zolota Nyva, the Russian occupants used aircraft. They attempted to go closer to Pavlivka but failed.

The Russian army is primarily focusing its efforts in the South Buh direction on retaining the occupied locations and obstructing the advance of Ukrainian soldiers using illegal UAV reconnaissance.

Russian troops shelled Mykolaiv, Ukrainka, Prybuzke, Lymany, Stepova Dolyna, Blahgodatne, Vesely Kut, Kobzartsi, Bila Krynytsia, Tverdomedove, and Osokorivka communities’ civilian and military infrastructure.
