Oleksandr Starukh, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration reported that Russian soldiers shelled the maternity ward of the Vilniansk hospital in the Zaporizhzhia region (south of Ukraine), killing a baby on the night of November 23, 2022.

“At night, Russian troops fired huge rockets at the small maternity ward of the Vilniansk hospital. Grief fills our hearts – a newborn was killed,” noted the head of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration.
Rescuers are currently working at the site. In addition, the workers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine rescued a doctor and a woman from under the rubble of the building of the maternity ward of the Vilniansk hospital.
“The two-story building of the polyclinic maternity ward was destroyed as a result of a Russian rocket attack on the territory of the local hospital on the night of November 23, 2022, in the city of Vilniansk, Zaporizhzhia region. At that time, there was one woman with a newborn, as well as a doctor. As a result of the attack, a baby born in 2022 died, and a woman and a doctor were rescued from the rubble of the building by units of the State Emergency Service,” said the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
