The Secretary of the Zaporizhzhia City Council Anatolii Kurtiev informed on March 2, 2023, that at night, Russian troops attacked Zaporizhzhia (a city in the south of Ukraine). As a result of the shelling, a 5-story residential building was destroyed in one of the districts of the city. According to preliminary information, 2 civilians were killed.

“Russian military almost completely destroyed one 5-story building. People are under the rubble. According to preliminary information, 2 people were killed. All relevant services are working,” reported the Secretary of the Zaporizhzhia City Council.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine said that as a result of a rocket strike, floors from 5 to 1 of a five-story residential building within one entrance were destroyed.
“As of 04:30 a.m., 8 people were rescued and hospitalized for examination, and 20 people were evacuated. One dead person was unblocked from under the rubble,” the State Emergency Service reported.
Then, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine added that 11 civilians have already been rescued.
“As of 06:30 a.m., at the site of a rocket attack on a residential building in the city of Zaporizhzhia, 11 people (including 1 pregnant woman) were rescued by units of the State Emergency Service and 20 residents were evacuated from a nearby entrance. The bodies of two people were removed from the rubble,” noted the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
