Yatseniuk urges West to stop defense cooperation with Kremlin

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has urged the Western countries to stop military and technical cooperation with Russia.
The head of government said this at a briefing on Friday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“Especially I appeal to our Western partners – one cannot supply weapons to those who then use these weapons against independent democratic countries,” Yatseniuk said.
In addition, he said that these arms could also be used and “against the Western countries.”
Yatseniuk also added that last month the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council banned Ukrainian companies from cooperating with Russia in the military and technical sphere.
As Ukrinform reported, the Ukrainian government on Friday approved a bill on sanctions, which will ban supplies of dual-use goods to Russia.
“These measures will prevent the aggressor country from modernizing its armed forces,” Yatseniuk said.
As reported, France still decided to sell Mistral helicopter carriers to Russia despite EU sanctions.
