Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk is convinced that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is now trying to create a frozen conflict in Donbas to pave a corridor through Odesa to Transnistria.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk said within the frames of the 11th Annual Meeting of Yalta European Strategy YES, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“I clearly understand the ultimate goal of Vladimir Putin – not just to take Donetsk and Luhansk, his purpose is Ukraine as a whole. He cannot accept the fact that Ukraine will become a part of the large European community, he wants to restore the Soviet Union,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine said.
The first step of Putin, according to Yatseniuk, was annexation of Crimea, the second – creation of the frozen conflict in Donbas.
