US President nominated Bridget Brink as US Ambassador to Ukraine

US President Joe Biden has nominated US Ambassador to Slovakia Bridget A. Brink as head of the US embassy in Ukraine.

“Today, President Biden announced his intention to nominate US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget A. Brink, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine,” the White House said.

Bridget Brink, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, currently serves as the US Ambassador to the Slovak Republic, a country that neighbors Ukraine in the West.

Before that, she served as a senior advisor and deputy assistant secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the US Department of State, covering Eastern Europe and Caucasian countries – Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.

Brink also served as deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassies in Uzbekistan and Georgia.

She has spent her twenty-five-year-long career in the Foreign Service, focusing on advancing US interests in Europe and Eurasia.
