The ministers discussed the humanitarian situation in Ukraine caused by Russia’s military invasion and indiscriminate shelling of Ukrainian cities by Russian troops.

“They stressed the urgency and priority of establishing a complete ceasefire throughout Ukraine,” the report says.

“Both ministers noted the need to further strengthen sanctions in the face of continued Russian offensive. The ministers also affirmed their support for the IAEA’s proposals to strengthen the safety of Ukraine’s nuclear facilities,” the French Foreign Ministry reported.

The two ministers also discussed preparations for meetings of NATO and G7 heads of state and government in Brussels this Thursday, as well as the US president’s participation in the European Council.
