One of the largest Ukrainian telecom operators, Ukrtelecom, halted its telephone communication services and internet access on the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the company press service reports.
”Telephone communication and internet access services are not provided in the uncontrolled territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions in connection with the loss of control over the telecommunications network,” the report said.
As UNIAN reported, on March 1, Ukrtelecom stated it was stopping servicing about 200,000 subscribers in the occupied part of Donetsk region as a result of the interference of unidentified persons in the network and the capture of the company`s regional headquarters.
”The Ukrainian operator lost the technical capability for a centralized management of the equipment in this territory. As a result, the network`s local fragment was disconnected from the nationwide network,” the company said.
