State-run Ukrainian SpetsTechnoExport, which is part of Ukraine`s state-owned defense giant Ukroboronprom, has showcased its new ANSER drone at the 13th international specialized exhibition ”Arms and Security 2016,” held in Kyiv, according to Ukroboronprom`s press service.
This unmanned aerial vehicle is distinguished by the ability to fly for six to twelve hours. The UAV is also able to carry load of up to 5 kg and use fully encrypted digital data transmission channels, the press service said. The weight of the aerial vehicle is 23 kg.
As noted, the UAV takes off from a catapult and lands using a parachute, so it does not need fixed runways and platforms.
Ukroboronprom notes the ANSER drone can be effectively used to monitor large areas, coastlines, positions and movements in the enemy`s rear area. A 32x optical zoom is used for aerial surveillance.
The UAV is being tested in its various modifications, including with a combat payload. The aerial complex has been developed by private enterprise Spaitech.
