Advisor to the Kherson Mayor Roman Holovnia said on October 2, 2022, that the Armed Forces of Ukraine intensified their actions to liberate the Kherson region (south of Ukraine).

“We have already received confirmed information about the activation of our troops in the direction of Kherson and the region since yesterday evening. This is directly reflected in the city of Kherson itself. There is also verified information about the destruction of Russian equipment and manpower in the city.”
The mayor’s adviser also noted that Russian units had brought certain military units in the occupied Crimea to full combat readiness.
“The positive information has been received about the work of our Armed Forces since morning. Now we are waiting for confirmation from the General Staff. There are also data from the General Staff that Russian troops have become more active in the occupied Crimea. This confirms that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have moved forward in the Kherson region.”
