“Despite the Russian shelling, the local government, utilities and energy workers have already restored more than 55% of the infrastructure objects destroyed or damaged by Russian troops, which enable us to supply Ukrainians with heat,” noted the head of the board of Naftogaz.

According to Oleksiy Chernyshov, housing, hospitals, schools and kindergartens of Ukraine are provided with heat in full where the situation allows.

“No matter how much Russia wants us to freeze, it won’t happen. Ukraine has already passed the first half of the most difficult heating season in the history of Ukraine. We will definitely pass the second one as well,” summed up Oleksiy Chernyshov.

The energy system of Ukraine suffered 11 missile and 14 drone attacks by the Russian army since October 10, 2022. Damage to generation facilities and trunk networks is complex and large-scale. Their restoration still requires significant resources and time.
