“Ukrainian forces have inflicted a major operational defeat on Russia, recapturing almost all Kharkiv Oblast in a rapid counter-offensive.”
The map of Russia’s Ministry of Defense, dated September 11, shows that Russian troops are leaving settlements around Kharkiv, from the north of the region. It also shows the withdrawal of Russian troops from settlements along the Oskil River.
Geolocation and footage from social media confirmed that Ukrainian forces entered Vovchansk, Velikyi Burluk and cut the Russian land lines of communication (GLOC), and reached the international border north-of Kharkiv.
Geolocation footage also shows how Ukrainian troops took control over Izyum and the settlements to its south and southwest on September 11.
“Russian forces have retreated quickly from the area, with social media postings showing abandoned tanks near Izyum and other heavy military gear, suggesting that they failed to make a coherent retreat.”
