According to the Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhii Haidai, fighting continues in two directions in the Luhansk region (east of Ukraine). Ukrainian soldiers have already liberated nine settlements of the Luhansk region from Russian troops as of October 31, 2022.

“Nine settlements have been liberated as of today. And I hope that Ukrainian troops will increase this number every week. We are ready to work, all the heads of military administrations,” the Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration said.
According to Serhii Haidai, two destinations in the region remain the hottest in terms of fighting at the moment – Bilohorivka and Svatove-Kreminna. In the first, the Russian army tries to knock out the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the liberated territory, and in the second, it mainly defends itself.
The Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration explained that the Russian Federation has withdrawn “a huge number” of military personnel to the Luhansk region, but most of them are recently mobilized representatives of civilian professions or prisoners, among whom there is no combat coordination.
“It’s still a huge number of people. It’s dangerous. But to go on the offensive with such a formation is suicide in general,” Serhii Haidai commented on Russian mobilized personnel.
According to Serhii Haidai, there are difficulties which prevent the quick liberation of all occupied areas of the Luhansk region. In particular, Russian troops densely mined the territory, blew up some bridges and pulled up reserves and ammunition for heavy artillery.
