The Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleg Sinegubov emphasized that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had already liberated 544 settlements in the Kharkiv region (east of Ukraine) as of October 20, 2022. Fighting in the region continues.

Only 32 settlements in the Kharkiv region remain under the temporary occupation of Russia.
“This is a little less than 2%. We have a lot of work to do to restore the functioning of state power in these territories. Ukrainian troops do not stop and continue to push Russian soldiers out of our territory. Over the past 6 days, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated 19 settlements from Russian occupation,” said the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
According to Oleg Sinegubov, the regional administration, together with the military and the authorities on the ground did a great job of creating an echeloned defense of the Kharkiv region. Three lines of defense were built and strengthened.
“After the de-occupation, the territories are first cleared of mines, then the police and prosecutor’s offices of Ukraine enter there to record Russian crimes in the liberated settlements,” added the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
