Issues on “full set of assistance” that the United States may provide to Ukraine in view of an ongoing Russian aggression are expected to be discussed during US Secretary of State John Kerry’s visit to Kyiv next week.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko told journalists at a meeting in Washington, D.C. on Friday, the Ukrinform own correspondent in the US reported.
“We are talking about the entire complex of assistance that Ukraine requires with our US partners. It includes not only military and financial assistance, but we also need diplomatic pressure, it is necessary to continue the declared level of sanctions against Russia,” the top diplomat said.
He stressed that “these issues that will be undoubtedly discussed during Kerry’s visit.”
As Ukrinform previously reported, the US State Department officially announced the visit of US Secretary of State John Kerry to Ukraine on February 5 last Friday. In particular, head of the US State Department is planned to meet with Ukraine’s President Poroshenko, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk, Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and many members of Ukrainian parliament in Kyiv during his visit.
