Ukraine’s accession to the EU will be discussed during EU-Ukraine summit

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba noted on January 13, 2023, that during the EU-Ukraine summit, which should take place in Kyiv on February 3, the leaders would talk about preliminary negotiations regarding Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

“On February 3, the next EU-Ukraine summit will take place, one of the key topics of which will be preliminary negotiations on our country’s membership in the European Union,” explained Ukraine’s Foreign Minister.

According to Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine is ready for changes and work to speed up its European integration. At the same time, the decision on Ukraine’s accession to the EU also depends on the bloc’s member countries.

“Today, Ukraine is doing everything to become a member of the EU in a short period of time. We have all the necessary prerequisites and the potential, as well as the political will to implement all the recommendations of the European Commission as soon as possible,” added Dmytro Kuleba.

Earlier, the spokeswoman of the European Commission, Dana Spinant, reported that before the summit, namely on February 2, 2023, about 15 of the 27 European commissioners can arrive in Kyiv.
