Ukraine, the EU and NATO agreed on coordination of the production of weapons for the Ukrainian army

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine noted that a tripartite meeting of NATO, the EU and Ukraine took place in Brussels on February 21, 2023, for the first time. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba discussed the strengthening of Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

“Ukraine, the EU and NATO are joining forces to increase the production of weapons and ammunition for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and to replenish the allies’ stocks. The parties agreed to create a tripartite coordination mechanism that would synchronize the work of producers, buyers and governments,” informed the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The main topic of the negotiations in Brussels was the strengthening of Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

Dmytro Kuleba thanked the EU and NATO countries for a number of important decisions regarding assistance to Ukraine in the field of security and called on them to speed up their implementation.

“We have a common goal – to restore peace and stability in Europe. For this, the victory of Ukraine is important, as well as providing our military with everything necessary as soon as possible,” the Foreign Minister of Ukraine said.

Dmytro Kuleba also stated that the new tripartite Ukraine-EU-NATO format will work on a permanent basis.
