“Currently, imports are small, but they have continued since January 1. Moreover, we have made it possible for enterprises to purchase, and this will accordingly affect supplies and their possible limitation in supplies,” emphasized the Minister of Energy of Ukraine.

According to Herman Halushcnenko, the volume of imports in the future will depend on the progress of restoration work on damaged networks and possible new attacks by Russian troops on energy facilities.

“Much will depend on the future shelling of the energy system, what damage there will be, but, of course, we also count on imports of electricity,” added the Minister of Energy of Ukraine.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in December 2022 announced the supply of electricity from Europe in the amount of about 2 GW to get through the winter, estimating the required amount of funds at $800 million.
