The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said on December 26, 2022, that the Ukrainian government wanted to hold a “peace” summit by the end of February 2023 at the United Nations with the participation of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres as a possible mediator.

According to Dmytro Kuleba, the summit will be timed to the anniversary of the invasion of Russia. At the same time, answering a question about whether Russia will be invited to the summit, Dmytro Kuleba said that Moscow must first appear before the international court for war crimes.
“The United Nations could be the best venue for holding this summit because this is not about making a favor to a certain country. This is really about bringing everyone on board,” explained Ukraine’s Foreign Minister.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister believes that UN Secretary-General will be the best mediator at the “peace” summit.
“He has proven himself to be an efficient mediator and an efficient negotiator, and most importantly, as a man of principle and integrity. So we would welcome his active participation,” clarified Dmytro Kuleba.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy already stated that Ukraine planned to initiate a summit on the implementation of the Ukrainian peace formula in 2023.
In November 2022, at the G20 summit in Bali, Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented a ten-point peace formula, which includes the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity, the withdrawal of Russian troops, the release of all war prisoners, a tribunal for those guilty of aggression, and security guarantees for Ukraine.
