Ukrainian farmers have exported 28.65 million tonnes of grain since the start of the 2016-2017 marketing year, or MY, (July 2016 – June 2017), according to the Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry`s press service.
In particular, wheat exports totaled 13.3 million tonnes, barley shipments were about 4.6 million tonnes, and those of maize were 10.5 million tonnes.
Over the period under review, farmers shipped 239,500 tonnes of flour abroad: 238,600 tonnes of wheat flour and 900 tonnes of other types of flour.
Earlier, Ukrainian agrarians plan to sell 41.6 million tonnes of grain abroad, setting a record in 2016-2017 MY. The previous record was registered in 2015-2016 MY when grain exports stood at 39.4 million tonnes.
Ukraine gathered 65.95 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops in 2016, which was 9.7% up from 2015. It was also a record for the whole period of the country`s independence, according to the State Statistics Service.
