The State Migration Service of Ukraine has started receiving documents for the production of biometric passports for traveling abroad.
The spokesperson for the State Migration Service, Serhiy Hunko, told this to Ukrinform on Monday.
“Today the points for processing biometric passports began to work,” he said.
He recalled that 30 points for collecting biometric data had currently been set up at State Migration Service units throughout Ukraine.
According to Hunko, in Kyiv people may pass documents for the production of a foreign passport with an electronic chip at 14a Mykoly Lebedeva Street, 9 Hertsena Street, 4a Berezniakivska Street, 27 Shevchenko Boulevard, and 10 Bohdana Khmelnytskoho Street.
He also said that the equipment for issuing biometric documents in February would operate at all State Migration Service units that issued foreign passports. The total number of points for the collection of biometric data will grow to 600.
