According to Kallas, the European Union, Ukraine and Moldova have made their choice in favor of democracy, freedom and a decent lifestyle.
“Opening the door to the European Union for new members is the most important geopolitical step forward for these countries since the collapse of the Soviet Union. The accession of Ukraine and Moldova not only means the final turn of these nations towards Western values, and its control over many states and peoples,” the Prime Minister stressed.
The Prime Minister noted that Estonia was among the main supporters of Ukraine, and this was confirmed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“Estonia as a state and its representatives have helped Ukraine a lot, so it is especially important for us that Ukraine has acquired the status of a candidate country. I thank all those diplomats who have made a lot of efforts in recent months to make this decision, worked hard for it and believed in Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia,” the Estonian Prime Minister added.
