Russia launched eight cruise missiles of the X-101 (X-555) type in the direction of the central, southern and western regions of Ukraine on August 2, seven of them worth $91 million were shot down by Ukrainian troops.

On August 2, at 5 p.m., Russia attacked Ukraine with cruise missiles from the Caspian Sea region, for which it used Tu-95 (Tu-160) strategic bombers.
“Seven out of eight missiles were shot down by the air defense of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Six missiles were eliminated by the anti-aircraft missile forces, and one was shot down by an Air Force fighter jet.”
One hit was recorded in the Lviv region, as a result, an anti-aircraft missile system was destroyed.
To calculate the cost of these missiles, Forbes used the following estimates:
- the cost of the X-101 missile – is $13 million,
- “Kalibr” – $6.5 million;
- “Iskander” – $3 million;
- “Onyx” – $1.25 million;
- X-22 – $1 million;
- “Tochka-U” – $0.3 million.
