The commander of the Russian garrison at the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant stated on August 8, 2022, that all important objects were mined at the plant, and the station “will be Russian or a draw.”

“Here [at the Zaporizhzhia NPP – ed.] will be either a free Russian land or a burnt desert! And you, soldiers of the great Russian army, must be ready to carry out this order,” the occupier said.
He added that the Russian military “is ready for the consequences of this step.”
Ukrainian Intelligence also confirmed the information that Russian troops mined the territory of the Zaporizhzhia NPP power units in Energodar. In addition, the occupiers mined vital communications in the temporarily occupied Kherson.
On August 6, Energoatom called on the UN, the IAEA and the entire world community take all possible measures to send a security mission to the Zaporizhzhia NPP with its further demilitarization and the withdrawal of armed Russian occupation troops from the station and the entire surrounding area.
