On August 10, 2015, the ATO Press Center reports that Russian terrorists increased intensity of attacks yesterday. Pro-Russian terrorists shelled the ATO (anti-terrorist operation) forces’ positions and peaceful settlements 127 times on August 9, 2015.
“The past day in the ATO area was big for attacks on our positions on the part of the illegal armed groups in recent weeks. The militants have increased the intensity of assaults almost along the entire demarcation line from 6 p.m. until midnight Aug. 9,” informs the ATO Press Center.
The militants fired at the Ukrainian stronghold in the vicinity of Novhorodske village near Donetsk from mortars and small arms at about 6 p.m. The terrorists shelled Avdiivka twice from 120-mm mortars in the evening and used tanks at midnight. The militants were employing 122-mm artillery against Krasnohorivka from 7 p.m. Aug. 9 to almost 1 a.m. Aug. 10, 2015.
The situation at the Artemivsk direction remained no less tense, terrorists shelled at Ukrainian’s positions with Grad:
“The militants employed BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers to shell the Ukrainian troops’ positions in Troitske village from the direction of Kalynove village between 9:40 p.m. and 10 p.m. The same village was shelled by the enemy from 120-mm mortars after the attack from Grads. Our troops deployed in the village of Rozsadky were also shelled from Grads at 9:45 p.m,” reports the ATO Press Center.
The illegal armed groups committed four strikes on Krymske village in the Luhansk region using mortars and 122-millimeter artillery between 11 p.m. Aug. 9 and 12:30 a.m. Aug. 10, 2015.
The pro-Russian terrorists shelled at the ATO forces’ positions and residential buildings in Starohnativka near Mariupol from artillery and mortars around midnight.
“The Russian-terrorist troops violated the cease-fire 127 times totally on Aug. 9,2015,” reports the ATO Press Center.
The militants kept increasing intensity of attacks in the Donetsk region after midnight. The villages of Opytne, Vodiane, and Pisky came under fire from artillery and mortars prohibited by the Minsk Agreements there.
“In addition, up to 400 militants supported by 122-mm artillery, tanks, armored personnel carriers, and small arms unsuccessfully tried to break through our defenses near the village of Starohnativka at the Mariupol direction at about 4 a.m. The enemy retreated due to skillful actions of the ATO soldiers,” the ATO Press Center.
