“We have a request to join European institutions. In particular, we are talking about the Civil Protection Mechanism, which unites all European emergency services and their counterparts. Today, we are actively cooperating with this institution,” the Minister noted.
He added that thanks to the Mechanism, Ukraine received several hundred cars for rescuers – this is especially important since many cars were destroyed and lost as a result of Russian shelling.
According to the Minister, European colleagues are ready to provide Ukraine with machinery and equipment precisely through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
“Therefore, one of my main goals is to communicate with the ministers so that we join this process, join this institution,” Monastyrskyi emphasized.
He said that during the summit in Prague, he will report on how Ukraine prepared for war with Russia, what mistakes were made, and what were the strengths of this preparation.
“They want to hear for themselves what conclusions they need to draw and what needs to be redone in order to be ready for the challenges that exist in Europe today.”
