A Su-25 fighter aircraft involved in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) was shot down in Luhansk region on Wednesday, National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) information and analytical center spokesman Andriy Lysenko has said, according to ZN.ua.
“A Su-25 aircraft was really hit today during a combat mission. It crashed. The fate of the pilot is still unknown, but there is hope that everything will be fine with him,” he told the 112 Ukraina television channel on Wednesday.
Earlier media reports said that militants from the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic terrorist group had supposedly shot down an aircraft and two helicopters of the ATO forces near Luhansk.
