Sweden will transfer $30M to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund: photo

The Minister of Energy of Ukraine noted on February 28, 2023, that the Swedish government has decided to contribute almost 30 million dollars to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund after the meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden, Ebba Busch.

“In addition, Sweden will allocate funds to support the IAEA mission, which works at all Ukrainian nuclear power plants. It is also important so that observers have the opportunity to record the impact of Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy system, as well as nuclear and radiation safety,” said Herman Halushchenko.

The Minister of Energy added that Ukraine constantly receives both monetary aid and equipment from international partners to help restore energy facilities from the consequences of Russian missile and drone attacks.

During his visit to Stockholm, Herman Halushchenko held a bilateral meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden, Ebba Busch, as well as the Ministers of Energy of Bulgaria – Rossen Hristov and of Belgium – Tinne Van der Straeten. The parties discussed issues of energy security, strengthening energy independence, as well as assistance to Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.
