Combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 20 times in the past 24 hours: 13 times in the Mariupol sector, six times in the Donetsk sector and once in the Luhansk sector, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation headquarters.
In the Donetsk sector, the Russian-backed forces carried out provocative attacks from heavy machine-guns and small arms in the village of Verkhniotoretske. They fired rocket-propelled grenades and small arms toward Ukrainian positions near the towns of Avdiyivka and Yasynuvata. They also used 82mm mortars to shell on Avdiyivka.

In the Luhansk sector, Russia`s hybrid military force fired small arms on the village of Novo-Oleksandrivka.
Further, two enemy unmanned aerial vehicles were spotted in the Mariupol direction.
”One of them was flying at an altitude of 500 meters towards the villages of Vodiane and Kominternove, while the other was moving at an altitude of 600 meters in the direction of the villages of Vodiane and Dzerzhynske. The Ukrainian military did not open fire,” the report says.
”In general, the situation in the Donbas conflict zone could be described as the observance of the `ceasefire,` with the exception of single armed provocations by the enemy,” the headquarters noted.
As UNIAN reported earlier, agreements to cease fire in Donbas became effective from September 1. However, the first provocative attacks by militants began in the evening of the same day.
